<p><strong>Skiing background :</strong> Your children have done between 1 and 3 weeks of skiing. They know how to do snowplough turns and stop on green and blue slopes. They can also get up on their own after a fall, and move around using the side stepping technique or the duck climb.They were also introduced to the parallel position on flat terrain. <br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Learning the first steps of parallel turns such as parallel crossings and side slipping on easy green and blue slopes. Challenge their balance on a bumpy course. Discover the Safe skiers rules and respect them. <br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> On the first day, they get to know their instructors and the other children of the 1st Ski level. All the groups will start together, warmup and harmonize on a green slope. The groups will be defined by the levels and age of the children. As the week goes on, they will practice with different exercises to achieve their weekly goal and gain confidence skiing on blue slopes. Regarding the evolution, the ski poles will be introduced to them during the week.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> The lessons are taking place from 14:00 to 16:30 before the 5th Feb and 17:00 after this date.<br> <strong>More :</strong> The 1st ski group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 children. Everybody progresses at their own paces and children have the opportunity to change groups during the week. They can also enjoy some breaks and warm themselves up with a hot cocoa. The traditional medal awarding ceremony is taking place on Fridays, in front of the ski school. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget the ski-pass for the chairlifts, a little snack in the pocket for the break and sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

<p><strong>Your skiing background :</strong> From 2 to 5 weeks of experience. You already know how to ski parallel on blue slopes.<br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Improve your parallel turns with vertical movement, start skiing on red runs. Learn how to anticipate terrain movements, how to ski without wasting your energy. Move around the resort integrating the flow of skiers and following the skier's rules.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> On the first day, you meet your instructor and your group under the A2 flag. It is possible that there are several groups in your level. In this case, the instructors will harmonize the groups according to the experience and desires of each one. Once the groups are homogeneous, your ski instructor will suggest some exercises to get back on your feet on blue runs. Over the course of the week and through exercises and repetition, you will integrate movement into your practice, using different techniques. Your turns become more fluid and require less effort. You gain confidence and skills to ski safely and autonomously on red runs.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong>Sunday morning lessons are from 10:00 to 12:00, afternoon from 14:00 to 16:30 before the 5th Feb and 17:00 after this date. From Monday to Friday, morning lessons are from 9:00 to 12:00 and afternoon lessons are from 14:00 to 16:30 before the 5th Feb and 17:00 after this date.<br> <strong>More :</strong> Class 2 adult ski group lessons are limited to 8 people. Everyone progresses at their own pace, and you have the option of changing groups during the week. The adult group ski lessons are excellent for progress. Indeed, the daily sessions allow you to come back on difficulties encountered the day before, and to improve technical points of your skiing. The group will be encouraging, and will help you challenge yourself. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Ski-pass is needed. Don't forget your sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

The Alpe d’Huez is situated on a fully south-facing plateau at 1860 m above sea level, and its skiable area enjoys maximum exposure to the sun. So enjoy a day’s skiing in the sun: up to 7 1/2 hours a day of sun in December, up to 11 hours a day in April. The French Weather Bureau has recorded an average of 300 days’ sunshine a year at the resort! Also, on a fine day, you can see 1/5e of France from Pic Blanc.
