SNOWBOARD BRONZE 6 afternoons
<p><strong>Experience :</strong> Beginner, your child has never tried snowboarding before or just a couple of hours (or on dry slopes).<br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Controlling speed with heel side or toe side skid and beeing able to do both turns on a green slope.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> The meeting point is at the top of the prosneige nursery slope at the black flag « snowboard bronz ». He-she will be introduced to you instructor and the rest of the group. The instructor will then explain how the gear works. Your child will do his-here first slides in a straight line in the biginner area. After you get familiar with the balance he-she will be taught how to change directions. At first they might fall so the instructor will also give them different tips on how to get up. During their progression they will discover wich foot they have in front on the board (goofy or regular). Then we will start to learn how to control speed on the heel edge. The instructor will then teach them how to cross the slop on the back and front side edge. Once they start getting confortable with that they will be tought how the control speed on their toe edge. We will then practice the transition between the toe and heel side postion to be able to link the turns. After that, they are able to ride down the slope doing both turns.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> The lessons are taking place from 14:00 to 16:30 before the 5th Feb and 17:00 after this date.<br> <strong>More :</strong> The Bronze Snowboard group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 children (from 8 years old). Everybody progresses at their own paces and have the opportunity to change groups during the week. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget the ski-pass for the chairlifts, a little snack in the pocket for the break and sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

1ST SKI 6 afternoons
<p><strong>Skiing background :</strong> Your children have done between 1 and 3 weeks of skiing. They know how to do snowplough turns and stop on green and blue slopes. They can also get up on their own after a fall, and move around using the side stepping technique or the duck climb.They were also introduced to the parallel position on flat terrain. <br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Learning the first steps of parallel turns such as parallel crossings and side slipping on easy green and blue slopes. Challenge their balance on a bumpy course. Discover the Safe skiers rules and respect them. <br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> On the first day, they get to know their instructors and the other children of the 1st Ski level. All the groups will start together, warmup and harmonize on a green slope. The groups will be defined by the levels and age of the children. As the week goes on, they will practice with different exercises to achieve their weekly goal and gain confidence skiing on blue slopes. Regarding the evolution, the ski poles will be introduced to them during the week.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> The lessons are taking place from 14:00 to 16:30 before the 5th Feb and 17:00 after this date.<br> <strong>More :</strong> The 1st ski group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 children. Everybody progresses at their own paces and children have the opportunity to change groups during the week. They can also enjoy some breaks and warm themselves up with a hot cocoa. The traditional medal awarding ceremony is taking place on Fridays, in front of the ski school. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget the ski-pass for the chairlifts, a little snack in the pocket for the break and sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

BEGINNER 6 mornings
<p><strong>Skiing background :</strong> You have never skied before or just once, a couple of hours. On snow or on dry slopes. <br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Discover the environment, and the ski gear. Move around skis on, with ease. Ski down green slopes using snowplough turns.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> Your week begins under the “Beginner” flag where you’ll meet your ski instructor and the group. You will then walk towards an easy part of the beginner area ( just a couple of meters below the meeting point ) where you’ll start your skiing journey. The instructor will show you different exercises to practice. With one ski on, then two. On a flat terrain, uphill, and finally, when you’re ready downhill. You’ll learn how to turn and stop, and take the moving carpet to get to the top of the slope. You will gain confidence and skills to get safely to the next level.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday (first day) from 10:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00.<br> <strong>More :</strong> The Beginner group ski lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 adults. Everybody progresses at their own paces and you have the opportunity to change groups during the week. You can also enjoy some breaks and warm yourself up in our chalet on the slopes. Group lessons are an excellent choice. Indeed, the daily sessions allow you to improve the technical points of your skiing and to overcome the difficulties you encountered the day before. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget your beginner skipass, a snack to keep your energy level up and sunscreen!<br></p>

The Alpe d’Huez is situated on a fully south-facing plateau at 1860 m above sea level, and its skiable area enjoys maximum exposure to the sun. So enjoy a day’s skiing in the sun: up to 7 1/2 hours a day of sun in December, up to 11 hours a day in April. The French Weather Bureau has recorded an average of 300 days’ sunshine a year at the resort! Also, on a fine day, you can see 1/5e of France from Pic Blanc.
