Ze Hero at Val Thorens

<p><strong>Skiing background :</strong> Your child has at least 7 weeks experience. He can easily make parallel large turns on red slopes and master short turns on blue runs. He can manage to stop quickly in every situation. He knows how to ski safely according to the Safe skiers rules. <br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> First steps toward becoming a versatile skier. Perfect control, carving and short turns on red slopes. Introduction to freestyle and how to behave in the snow park.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> On the first day, they get to know their instructors and the other children of the Bronze Ski level. All the groups will start together, warmup and harmonize. The groups will be defined by the levels, age and wishes of the children. During the first half day your child will get his technique and confidence back. Day after day, they will learn new skills thanks to the exercises and games set up by the instructor. The group will practice on different terrains that will help the children improve while having fun. Those exercices will improve their posture on red and black slopes and different kinds of snow. They will try out their firsts freestyle moves and muggles runs.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday morning lessons are from 10:00 to 12:00, afternoon from 14:30 to 16:30. From Monday to Friday, morning lessons are from 9:00 to 12:00 and afternoon lessons are from 14:30 to 16:30. <br> <strong>More :</strong> We also offer a full package for lunchtime, including a complete meal at the restaurant and activities with the instructors before the afternoon programs. The group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 children. Everybody progresses at their own pace and your child has the opportunity to change groups during the week. Children can also enjoy some breaks and warm themselves up with a hot cocoa in our chalet. The traditional medal awarding ceremony is taking place on Fridays, under the flag of your child’s group meeting point. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget their Skipass and a snack in their pocket for the break ! <br></p>

<p><strong>Your Experience :</strong> Beginner, you have never tried snowboarding before or just a couple of hours (or on dry slopes).<br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Controlling speed with a heel edge or toe edge skid and beeing able to do turns on a green slope.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> The meeting point is at the top of the prosneige nursery slope at the black flag « snowboard bronz ». You will be introduced to you instructor and the rest of the group. The instructor will then explain how the gear works. You will do your first slides in a straight line in the biginner area. After you get familiar with the balance you will be taught how to change directions. At first you might fall so the instructor will also give you different tips on how to get up. During your progression you will discover wich foot you have in front on the board (goofy or regular). Then we will start to learn how to control your speed on the back side edge. The instructor will then teach you how to cross the slop on the back and front side edge. Once you start getting confortable with that you will be taught on how to control speed on your toe edge, the instructor will help you with the toe edge skid. We will then practice the transition between the toe and heel edge postion to be able to link the turns. After you are able to ride down the slope doing both turns you will be taught your first flat tricks like 180 slides.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday morning lessons are from 10:00 to 12:00, afternoon from 14:30 to 16:30. <p><strong>Your Experience :</strong> You are confortable on all types of terrains and snow conditions.<br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Freestyle/Backcountry, mostly off-piste sessions and skills improvement on bigger modules and jumps at the park. Carving on red slopes and being able to adapte riding to the terrain. <br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> The meeting point is at the top of the prosneige nursery slope at the black flag « snowboard expert». After meeting the instructor and the rest of the group you will hit the slopes. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, you will mostly ride off-pistes and discover the 3 Valleys with your instructor. The instructor will help the group to increase your techniqual skills to be able to adapte your riding to all kinds of snow and terrain. You will be taught how to use the off piste security equpement. You will also go to the park and hit bigger modules and practice more tricks.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday morning lessons are from 10:00 to 12:00, afternoon from 14:30 to 16:30. <p><strong>The experience of your child :</strong> From 5 years old - Introduction and first contact with a snowboard for your little ones.<br> <strong>Lesson goals :</strong> It is the only lesson where we ask you to stay close to your child, in fact the goal is to give him confidence with his first little ride, and first contact with the equipment, you can help the instructors.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 5pm. Right after nap time, making sure the children will be full of energy.<br> </p><p><strong>More :</strong> Snwoboard equipment rental included with the lesson. During the lesson, you can watch your kid's first slides from the terrasse of our chalet. </p> <strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget your camera.
